This lakeside home originally had two separate boiler systems, each serving a hydronic air handler and A-coil for its respective floor, with a total of 5 independent zones. Both systems had reached the end of their lifespan, so we upgraded them with Samsung Hylex low-temperature heat pumps. These units integrate easily with existing A-coils, making them a perfect solution for adding dual fuel capabilities.

Each floor can now be heated by either the boiler’s hydronic system or the heat pump, depending on the conditions. We paired the system with Honeywell T10 thermostats and a zoning board, giving the homeowner the option to manually select the heating source or let the outdoor sensors make the switch automatically. This setup ensures the home always runs on the most efficient and effective heating source, delivering reliable comfort year-round.
